Welcome to the FlatMountains History page. We became a league in 2002 with eight owners. Our first ever Champion Loveland Family led from week 1 all the way through but had to sweat the whole way as he only ended up winning by 13 points over 2nd place Deputy Dawg. In 2003 we added our 9th owner, Warrior Poets, but ended up losing another owner, Crush. Fighting Hellfish won the Championship in 2003 in another close race with Loveland Family finishing 2nd, missing out of the top spot by only 3 points with Attitude Adjusters finishing a very close 3rd, only 61 points out of 1st with a score that would've won in 2002. We added our 9th owner again in 2004, Tattooed Outlaws. Loveland Family won his 2nd title with an amazing 2042-point season, a record that still stands as we enter the 2015 season. He again led from wire to wire. In only his 2nd season Warrior Poets had an insane 209-point record week, another record that stands as we enter the 2015 season. We added our 10th owner in 2005...Super Simians but Titans left the league, so we were again stuck on nine. We then had a pre-season majority vote of owners to dismiss Deputy Dawg from the league, but we added Grim Reapers to take over Dawg's team before the start of the season. Loveland Family won his 3rd championship in four seasons. He actually only led one of the first eight weeks before taking over in week nine and leading the rest of the way. In 2006 Loveland Family officially became a dynasty, winning yet another title. He led from weeks 2-9 then Poets came on strong to lead the next three weeks, but Family took over and led the rest of the way. In 2007 we finally added our 10th owner, Pirate Kings. FlatMountains appears to have a great group of guys with a very bright future. Junkyard Frogs ended Family's strangle hold on the league by taking home the trophy in 2007. Family bounced right back taking his rightful place on the throne in 2008. Hellfish took home his second championship in 2009 thanks to a couple of major pre-season trades. Xtreme Bandits took home his first ever Championship with Frogs and Family taking home second and third respectively in 2010. The ole' commish, Attitude Adjusters finally took home the crown in 2011 thanks to Tom Brady and company's magical season. He became the last of the original five owners to take home the title. Bandits proved that 2010 was no fluke finishing as the runner-up with Frogs taking third. Tattooed Outlaws became the first non-original five owner to take home the title in 2012 after finishing 9th in 2011. Bandits proved he's as good as anybody over the past several years by again claiming 2nd while Frogs again took home the 3rd place title. One of these three owners led in 19 of the 21 weeks with Frogs in the lead going into week 18 before Bandits took the lead going into week 19 only to see Outlaws eventually take care of business. Hellfish opened the 2013 season with the second highest score of all-time (191 points) and never looked back, cruising to an easy Championship! He looked primed to go for back-to-back titles in 2014 but Bandits has other ideas, taking home his 2nd championship proving that his 8th place in 2013 was just a fluke. Frogs ran away with the 2015 Championship with Outlaws beating out Reapers for 2nd place. Frogs went back-to-back in 2016 but it was much closer this time, with Poets finishing only 22 points behind. Kings captured his first ever top three finish. Reapers won his first title in 2017, winning going away by almost 400 points. Outlaws was runner up beating 3rd place Frogs by five points. Reapers ran away with back-to-back titles in 2018. Frogs beat out Kings by one point for 2nd place. Can anybody step up and stop Reapers from 3-peating?!? The answer to that question was yes, as Hellfish, who was projected to finish last, ran away with the title in 2019. He's in good shape to repeat but there are plenty of owners with the fire power to compete, and who knows WTF will happen in this crazy year known as 2020. Reapers bounced back in 2020, scoring the third most points in FMFFL history, to win his 3rd title in four years. He will be among the favorites in 2021 but as we have seen, anything can happen in this league. Frogs won running away in 2021, coming up just short of the magical 2,000-point mark. Pirate Kings was projected to finish last in 2022 but proved the "experts" wrong by winning his first championship. Kings led in 2023 by over 100 points after week 13 but by week 18 Family had taken over and ended up running away with his first title since 2008. Family finished 7th in 2022 and Kings finished 9th the year before he won his title, so it just shows you never know. It should be another interesting season in 2024.
